Working from Home

ha, today, 10.53 am, Thursday, I am ready to start my work already. If you ask me 'if I see myself as a night owl or a morning person?' my answer would be... 'I am definitely both haha.' Why is that? Let me tell you the story.


Before I found my passion for writing, I had different jobs before, working at hotels, Starbucks, restaurants, promoters, and even coffee shops... haha, pretty mad right? Oh wait, btw, that was what it called in the Netherlands, when you ask where you can buy weed, you ask people where is the coffee shop, and if you ask people where you can buy a nice ice latte or a warm caramel macchiato, that place is called a cafe. Pretty complicated I know haha. Actually, I love working from home, now, as a writer, cos it's fun to write, and it's flexible to adapt my working routine. I used to be a night owl, I mean I never thought that was a problem, cos your sleep time is based on your working hours, and how late you've finished your work. When I used to work as a promoter at the nightclub, my working hours were from 12-4 am, yeh, until earlier in the morning. And when you start working, your body kinda changes or adapts, cos the goal is we want to make things work, and we want to get the job done right?! haha. Well, I enjoyed working at night in the past. But honestly, I feel more fresh and with a clear mind to work during the day, it's nice to get some natural light, isn't it? haha.


Ok, I know you have many questions here about how to create a cozy space for working from home, well I tell you some tips or some suggestions according to my experience:


  1. I like to make a plan for the next day before I go to sleep at night, I mean, if I know what I am gonna do tomorrow, which means I know what I can expect, that leads to the result of I know when I can relax or do stuff I like after work.

  2. I mean, it's kinda nice to make the bed after you wake up, buttt I don't do that instantly after I woke up, I like to clean a bit my room first, you know, just to organize a bit, put some stuff back to the place, such as put my clothes in the wardrobe...

  3. The most important thing is to change your mind from sleeping mode to work mode, I know that's hard, haha but that's very necessary.🤍 Ok, here I give you one of my examples, I made a plan for myself which is to start working today at 11 am, which means the moment when I made that plan, I've already got a picture in my head of me sitting in front of my laptop a bit in advanced or on time, and I know as long as I sit in front of my laptop and ready to work, my body is ready, my mind is ready.

  4. What I like to do for myself while I am working is get a nice drink for myself, and put it next to me, I like to make a warm cappuccino at home. Well, tbh I am more into ice drinks. Or you can always buy one your favorite drinks at the cafe, as long as it makes you feel good about started working, that's all matters.

  5. And... what else? oh yeh, the natural light. I've found out that is quite helpful when I am working from home, I like to sit in the living room to work, and there is a balcony in front of me, so I can stop typing anytime I want, and just look outside, or just pause for a few second and enjoy the moment. Sounds pretty cool huh? ><

  6. The concentration.You know, when I enjoy stuff by myself, I've found out that I can focus quite well, ( honestly think this one is how you get your work done efficiently.)

  7. Last but not least haha, it's nice to make a plan for yourself to relax and enjoy your day after finishing your work. I'd like to run outside to relax after writing, sometimes I like to watch a movie at home, sometimes I like to read in bed... you know, I mean, there are plenty of things you can do to relax your mind after work. Be kind to yourself.🤍


Well, I hope you enjoy reading my little blog. I guess everyone has their own idea to make their working space cozy, and I believe everyone has their own way to relax.🤍 It's always nice to do nice things for yourself, to make you feel good, that's the feeling thing haha.
